Iâm eager to talk about all my ideas for Riggs, but we get sidetracked on the hike back to the car. We talk about anything and everything under the sun, except what weâre supposed to be working on. Itâs okay, heâs going to be stuck in the car with me soon, and he wonât be able to deflect so easily. It feels like itâs going to be my job to make sure he works on this trip documentary, because he doesnât seem very excited about the idea of it all. Not that I blame him, putting yourself out there because of your flaws is tremendously hard. The fact that he is even open to this idea makes me in awe of him even more.
The trek back to the car takes us three hours, and we decide to grab an early dinner before figuring out our next stop.
As we sit down and look at the menu at the local restaurant we found, I feel like Riggs knows I want to talk about it and is actively trying to avoid it. Well, too bad. Iâm not one that shies away from the hard shit.
âSo, I have been thinking about your campaign/documentary and I have some ideas.â
I hear him take a deep breath as he lowers his menu.
âOkay, letâs hear it,â he says cautiously, like heâs afraid Iâm going to suggest something completely out of his comfort zone.
âI think weâyouâshould do a social media challenge with a specific hashtag so we can see when people participate and use it. You can use it to post about all of the adventures weâre going on. I donât want to push him too hard, but I love this idea so much, partially because I feel like heâs already doing this with me. What happens if heâs able to get some actual reach with this concept and changes peopleâs lives for the better? Iâm getting ahead of myself, but Iâm really excited about this concept.
âIâ¦I really like it. I thought the hashtag idea was great when you first mentioned it, but now that youâve explained it more, it makes the most sense. How would we do posts and stuff? Pictures or videos?â
Yes! He likes it!
âWhat I think would be cool is treating it like a journal. Videos of all the cool shit we find, a little bit about what you learned from the specific place, maybe stylized pictures at the end of every location.â I have so many ideas and thoughts. Itâs hard for me to verbalize everything thatâs racing through my head right now.
âAre you ready to order?â A voice jolts me out of my excitement. I look up to find the server staring at us. I glance over at Riggs and he gives me a subtle nod, saying heâs ready if I am. I have
